An Art Director from Turkey, Orhan Okay, created some amazing designs for Turkish Lira. He worked with a minimalistic approch, following modern design trends.
For front illustrations, he used materials like, a popular Turkish poet, iconic educational foundation, an old Turkish astronomer and historical places. Also for the biggest banknote he chose a description of secular state by a Turkish academic woman, who was assasinated.
For back illustration, like every banknote today, an illustration of Ataturk is used. But the difference from the current Ataturk illustrations is he looks more casual and more approchable instead of looking like an iconic historical figure.
